One of my greatest influences is taking an acoustic instrument out to nature. Feeling the sun and wind. Hearing the birds and bugs tune their symphony with the harmony of the moment. And sure enough, I find when you start to play and make music with nature, there are uncanny connections that start to happen. Mysterious crecsencdos of cicadas and wind occur simultaneously with the and a listening that I do. Then there is something that transcends even listening, a telepathic unity that just happens. The way music goes out gently into space like a bird that soars above the treeline. The way temperature effects tempo. The way light effects harmony. Such great music teachers!
